Rita and Zedd change a pet chimp used by Katherine and Aisha for a school project into a Sinister Simian. Rita's father, Master Vile, arrives to do what she and Zedd have failed to do -- destroy the Rangers. Master Vile and his evil crew appear to be winning the battle against the Power Rangers. The Rangers decide that the only way to win against Master Vile is to journey to a distant galaxy.
Master Vile turns back time to gain control of Earth and turn the Rangers into helpless children. Rita Repulsa escapes after 10, years of imprisonment and is determined to conquer Earth, but a team of teenagers with attitude stands in her way. Kimberly and Trini gather signatures to close down a nearby dumpsite while convincing their teammates to work together more.
Kimberly's deaf friend is the only hope of rescuing a group of girls captured by the Gnarly Gnome and his hypnotic accordion. Billy's latest invention goes haywire, causing him and Kimberly to switch bodies. As Slayer tries to adjust herself into her new role, the aftermath of Drakkon's rampage seems to be irreparable. After having an altercation with a Coinless rebel, Adam Park suggests locking him in the Deathlock, a special prison made by Drakkon, leading Slayer to go there and free all the prisoners inside.
As she releases a man inside a Ranger armor, he desperately reveals her actions activated a signal, sending a message that allows an army of space monsters to conquer the world in case Drakkon was defeated. After being freed from his armor, the prisoner is revealed to be Jason Scott, and Scorpina reveals that the invading creatures that lead by Eclipta, an emissary of Dark Specter. Jason suggests removing the Power Coins from the Deathlock's disruptor but the others refuse. However, during the battle between the Sentries and Eclipta's army, Jason removes the Coins anyway, causing the Sentries to lose their powers.
However, Slayer convinces him it is no longer the right way to do, but she gets the idea to use the remaining Power Coins on an reactor to spread the Morphin Energy around everyone. They attack a growned Eclipta until the reactor explodes, but Eclipta is already taken down by the Coinless and the Black Dragon Army, now reformed as the 'Shattered'. Meanwhile, Skull's girlfriend Candice is in fact a citizen from Zordon's planet, Eltar, and is tasked with a mission by the Guardians of Eltar.
When Zordon refuses, the Omega Rangers have no choice but to go rogue and free Drakkon from his prison, causing friction with Zordon and Alpha After the outbreak, the Power Rangers discuss whether it was the right decision or not, and Zordon begins to hire bounty hunters to capture the Omega Rangers.
